About PCCS

Established in 1993 by Pete Sanders, director of PCCS Books, Person-Centred Counselling Services Training was an independent counsellor-training organisation dedicated to the Person-Centred approach developed by the late Carl Rogers (1902-1987). From 1994 until 2009, PCCS was directed by Frances McDonnell and Tracey Walshaw.

PCCS had a reputation for innovation. The Professional Development Programme ran for eleven successful years and was the first of its kind in the North West. We also offered the first Advanced Diploma in Play Therapy in the North West.

Our trainers worked in ground-breaking projects including developing employee assistance programmes, developing telephone helpline services, training mental health workers in working with people with enduring mental health problems, developing supervision training for mental health workers, and counselling in broadcast media.
