But one of the greatest misunderstandings of the Person-Centred Approach is to focus on how to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peggy Natiello (2001) says \u201cIt\u2019s the being, not the doing\u2026 To let go of control, to accept unconditionally, to hear empathically, to bring a genuine, vulnerable self into your relationships enhances the ability to live with increasing openness and fluidity, to trust your organismic wisdom, and to dwell in the here and now\u201d is what is important.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers\u2019s theory of the approach grew out of his experience as a therapist and locates the theory of therapy at the heart of person-centred thinking. \u00a0The central\u00a0 starting point is the therapeutic relationship.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The aim of these two meetings is to reflect on the further development of Person-Centred counselling attitudes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To offer a live counselling session, (with a willing participant), followed by time for feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To look at the theory, and how we understand it, in terms of our selves and our clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This workshop is aimed at practitioners wanting to immerse themselves in the Person-Centred Approach and way of learning, be part of a creative, experiential and reflective process where both personal and professional development can be enhanced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates: <\/strong>June 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 23<sup>rd <\/sup>2012 10-4.30pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost: <\/strong>\u00a3100.00 (waged) \u00a375.00 (part waged) \u00a350.00 (unwaged)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Bozarth (1998) states \u201cTo know the theory and understand \u00a0\u00a0is crucial.
