Working with clients who have unusual experiences or “psychotic” process with Wendy Traynor PhD

Wendy will discuss practice considerations for person-centred work (including pre-therapy) with clients which arise from her own practice research and wider literature.

Space will also be offered to support participants to explore and reflect on aspects of their own practice and development in this area of work, with the option of working creatively.

Dr Wendy Traynor has worked as a therapist for over 25 years, working with clients in mental health teams, acute psychiatric and crisis services, education and the third sector.

Her PhD research explored person-centred practice and pre-therapy with clients who have unusual experiences or psychotic processes from both a practitioner and client perspective including helpful and unhelpful practice and possible client changes. She currently offers supervision and counselling to adults and children in private practice and is involved in counselling training.
